Glycine

Glycine

The smallest and simplest amino acid, making it versatile for use in a wide range of functions. Glycine is necessary for the production of glutathione, DNA, creatine, bile, hemoglobin, and most proteins. It also helps to promote glycogen storage, thereby making glucose readily available for energy production. Glycine also functions as a calming neurotransmitter in the brain, where it facilitates nerve impulses and is important for the maintenance of healthy sleep patterns.

Paragon’s clinical metabolic research shows how the stress of modern life is causing the accelerated depletion of most nutrients involved in detoxification which support the metabolism and recycling of all-important glutathione.

As glutathione is comprised of the amino acids glycine, cysteine and glutamic acid, Paragon’s clinical metabolic testing shows that when in balance with cysteine and glutamic acid, glycine has the ability to help maintain healthy liver tissue, healthy lung tissue and function, the body's natural defenses and enhanced cellular health and longevity.
