Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid

Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid

Lipoic acid (LA) plays an important role in glucose (and protein) metabolism and energy production. Among other things, it works with B complex vitamins, magnesium, and Co Q 10 to ensure carbs and proteins are converted to energy. In doing so, lipoic acid helps lower blood sugar levels, prevent lactic acid generation, and enhance mitochondrial function which is critical to those with nerve damage, neurological disorders, cancers, diabetes or other degenerative conditions. It also helps athletes generate maximum muscle output without lactic acid production, and is a powerful scavenger of deadly toxins like arsenic and other heavy metals. Because it is soluble in both water and fat, LA is known as the "universal antioxidant." LA produced in the lab occurs in two forms, designated as "R" and "S." Studies show that R-LA, the natural form, is much more biologically active than the S form.

Paragon’s stabilized R-Lipoic Acid contains BioEnhanced Na-RALA, the sodium salt of R-Lipoic Acid (RLA). Unlike regular RLA, it won't degrade at high temperatures and is more bioavailable than regular RLA. The extraction method used on this RLA prevents solvent residues providing a natural, stable product.
